The story of the object
Copper was tinned on the inside so as not to spoil the taste of the food. Because the tin layer wore away over time, vessels were regularly taken to the 'kalaycı' (tinsmith). The three stamps under this carrier belong to three different masters in Bursa's coppersmiths' bazaar, pointing to the vessel's repair history.
