From one family's collection to everyone's museum
The museum's core is the 1,100 works gathered over 40 years by Bursa collector Ömür Hanımoğlu. The cultural foundation established in 2014 turned this collection into a museum in a historic han. The collection has since grown to 3,400 works, each inventoried, photographed and backed by a conservator's report.

Views of the Galleries
A small but very carefully run museum. The labels are plain and informative, and the audio guide is short and well conceived. I especially loved the silk gallery.
We joined the programme with workshop with our students. The educators pitched things at the children's level and the worksheets matched the curriculum.
The research library and works archive are a unique resource for regional material-culture studies. The booking process is easy and staff are helpful.
Our children loved the torchlit tour at Night at the Museum. The family ticket and discovery backpacks are really well thought out.
